President

My name is Logan Reed

I have been working in retail pharmacy for the past six years. I currently serve as a Lead Pharmacy Technician with Lewis Pharmacy.

I am originally from southern Missouri, where I previously worked on a cardiac unit in a hospital. After moving to South Dakota, I knew I wanted to continue working in a healthcare-related field, although I didn’t initially plan on pursuing a career in pharmacy. However, after starting in the pharmacy, I quickly realized that it was the right fit for me. I have enjoyed growing within the profession and being able to play an important role in helping patients and supporting the pharmacy team.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two-year-old son, Lincoln. I am also an avid golfer and can usually be found on a golf course at least once a week when I have the opportunity!

I am excited to serve as President of SDAPT and help rebuild the organization into a place where pharmacy technicians across South Dakota can connect, grow, and have their voices heard.

President Elect

My name is Sarah Park

In October 2005, I was working in the photo department at Walgreens when an opening became available in the pharmacy. Pharmacy was a world I knew absolutely nothing about and hadn’t even considered until a pharmacist recommended it to me. Now, more than 20 years later, I’ve built a career working in various areas of retail pharmacy.

Regardless of the setting, there is one thing that remains true: technicians make the pharmacy go ’round! There is so much more to this profession than is often recognized, and pharmacy technicians are frequently overlooked when we talk about the healthcare professionals who keep our communities healthy. Pharmacists, too, deserve far more recognition for the work they do.

Currently, I work for Lewis Drug at the Corporate Office. As most pharmacy technicians know, we wear many “hats” in this profession, and working primarily in an office setting certainly doesn’t make that any less true for me.

My hope is to light a flame in other pharmacy technicians—to encourage them to speak up for change and see this as more than just a job, but as a meaningful and rewarding career. I want to help break down barriers, expand the role of pharmacy technicians through additional training and education, and empower technicians to take on responsibilities that can help ease some of the clinical burden placed on pharmacists.

Pharmacy technicians already play an essential role in healthcare. I want to help make sure our profession continues to grow, evolve, and receive the recognition it deserves.

Secretary

My name is Adrianne Miller

In 2012 I was a department supervisor at Kohl's, but was looking for something to be able to make into a career. Knowing absolutely nothing about pharmacy, I started with Lewis Drug as a pharmacy clerk back in 2012 a few days a week as a 2nd job, It did not take very long before a position to open up for a full time Technician and I dove right in looking forward to something new. I really liked the fast pace environment of filling prescriptions and feeling like I was able to play a role in helping our patients stay well. I have been certified for nearly 14 years, and have been lucky to be able to participate in all aspects/responsibilities of a retail pharmacy technician. I continue to seek out every possible opportunity I can to grow my knowledge and advance my skills. I have a desire to share my passion for pharmacy with those around me and am excited to be able to advocate for not only the technicians within my company, but for all of us across the state! In my free time I enjoy music, board games, cooking, and spending time with my goldendoodle Stella. We enjoy going on many walks and exploring different state or city parks when able.

My name is Sandy Riendl

Hi everyone! 👋 I’m excited to introduce myself as the Treasurer of the South Dakota Association of Pharmacy Technicians!

By day, you can find me at Monument Health, where I work as a Pharmacy Operations Coordinator. Pharmacy is so much more than just a job to me—it’s something I truly care about. I’m a firm believer in going the extra mile for our patients, supporting one another, and doing whatever I can to help our technicians succeed. There’s nothing better than watching someone gain confidence, learn something new, and realize just how important they are to the pharmacy team!

I’m especially excited to be part of giving the South Dakota Association of Pharmacy Technicians a fresh start and getting things up and going again! 🎉 I want this Association to be a place where ALL pharmacy technicians feel welcome, supported, appreciated, and connected—whether you work in a hospital, retail, long-term care, specialty pharmacy, or anywhere else our profession takes you.

I’m looking forward to meeting technicians from across South Dakota, learning from each other, sharing ideas, and finding new ways to support and advocate for our profession.
